Gary (00:31)
Hi Ducks and Kings fans, this is Gary from Royally Quacked. I'm coming to you live from the dungeon in El Segundo. Last week, I was a bad boy. Not only did I insult my co -host, but I insulted one of the greatest goalies in NHL history.

So somehow, some way, my son forgave me. Somehow, some way, he was able to get what I needed to be able to do the podcast so my streak would stay alive. Thank you, Cody, for making this possible. It's a one week stint, guys.

I was a bad boy. And apologies to Dominik Hasek. Why I couldn't remember you won the Hart trophy. Probably because you were so incredible even with Buffalo, but they were never really a great team. So it just never popped into my head. apologies, sir. Forgive me. Maybe I can get off with an early release for good behavior.

Cody (01:45)
Hahaha.

Well, let's just say the only reason why you're on here is no one hit me up on the indeed job search. So you're in the clear so far.

Gary (01:59)
Okay, so I'm safe for one more week. Yay!

Cody (02:05)
Yeah, I just can't believe you forgot that hasic one at heart

Gary (02:12)
Yeah, I've done more embarrassing things than that. But I'm in a I'm in a dungeon for a week. It's dark, it's musky. There there's there's duck droppings all over here in El Segundo.

Cody (02:17)
haven't we all? Haven't we all?

So it's your

Good. All right. So it's your turn for trivia, right?

Gary (02:36)
Yes, I didn't even think about.

Cody (02:40)
You want to you got it or you want to move to news first?

Gary (02:45)
let's - we could move to news first.

Cody (02:47)
Alright, we'll start off with Ducks News. So last week, I told everyone that our third overall pick in this last year's draft forward Beckett Sennecke was going to be out for six to eight weeks, but I guess that is not true, apparently. So according to General's Live at General's Update, good

This is it says in the tweet. Good news for Ducks and Generals fans. As I heard tonight that Becket Sennecke has the boot off and will start skating this week. The six to eight weeks that Anaheim tweeted out is the full injury recovery time, but the injury happened six weeks ago. Barring a setback, he'll be in opening night. I'm guessing the opening night is more for the Oshawa Generals, not the Ducks.

opening night so that's good news. I don't think he's going to be part of rookie camp at all because he's just now getting over the injury but I hope there's no setbacks and he's able to start playing sometime soon because I would love just to start watching him just playing wherever he's playing. If it's in the the with the Osawa Generals or with the Anaheim Ducks because he can't really play with the Gulls because of the whole

cba agreement with the c the junior chl league next one this is the news that shocked i think i think everyone this week

Is that you?

know we're doing a podcast here right sir no playing games

Gary (04:33)
Yep. Yes. I'm in a dungeon. What do you want me? I'm playing a game. I'm bored. I'm in a dungeon. Give, give, give a guy a break. Still bread and water. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm almost skinny as a rail.

Cody (04:39)
No.

Nope, no breaks.

Well, mom's doing her job. Good. All right. Per Jordan Schmaltz, Cam Fowler's agent has notified the Ducks management. Sir, sir, I'm trying to tell you the news here.

Gary (05:06)
Go ahead. Sorry.

Cody (05:08)
Alright this I really gotta boost the you know the thing for the Indeed search now god alright well at least turn off the sound jeez anyways as I saying Cam Fowler's agent has notified the Ducks management that he may not report to training camp this may be a strategy strategy to be traded

Gary (05:09)
I got another week now in the dungeon.

Having fun, aren't we?

Cody (05:38)
sooner. That is some big news. I was not expecting that.

So I'm a, maybe I was wrong last week. I thought it was going to be a trade maybe at the trade deadline this year or next off season, but it looks like it might be sooner than that. We will see. I did hear that the Blues were interested in Cam Fowler. but I guess nothing really came to fruition on that. It makes me wonder like who

Looking at Cam Fowler and what the trade is looking like are the Ducks gonna retain? Cuz then I think he has two Years left. I believe I can't remember at the top my head. I could pull up on puckpedia and check it out after After Ducks news and I could tell you guys for sure. All right, and

Gary (06:30)
And maybe the black Hawks

Cody (06:35)
Yeah, Cam Fowler for Connor Bedard. Boom. I like that. what a great trade.

Gary (06:36)
They're, know.

Yeah, you're going to get more like who's the guy that got injured last year?

Cody (06:51)
Hall? I would take that trade. I would take that trade.

Gary (06:52)
Yeah, Taylor Hall.

Well, they're not going to trade the guard.

Cody (06:59)
I know a man can wish, but, the next bit of news is Ducks signed the following players to PTOs. Gustav Lindstrom, Mark Pysyk. I'm sorry if I pronounced that name wrong and Boris Katchouk. Katuk. Gustav Lindstrom did play for the Ducks last year.

Gary (07:03)
Yeah.

Cody (07:26)
After we picked him up from waivers from the Montreal Canadians. I thought he was a good waiver waiver waiver wire pickup So we'll see what happens with that and then there was something that people are saying on social media that that if the Ducks and Blackhawks should play a game against each other that they should wear the original Mighty Ducks Movie shirts the Ducks versus the Hawks

What do think about that dad? because people are putting on like social media with the dart and the Hawks Jersey and then Karlsson and the green Mighty Ducks. I would be I would love to see that. That would be like a great like outdoor game to do with that.

Gary (07:56)
That would be fun.

Yeah, it would be. That would be fun.

Cody (08:17)
And you got the number one versus the number two pick going against each other.

Gary (08:24)
Winner winner chicken dinner on that one. I think that'd be a great idea.

Cody (08:26)
It'd like bringing back like how it was during the mid 2010s when the Ducks and Blackhawks were always facing off each other in the playoffs. So, alright, that is it for Ducks news. You got a lot of Kings news here.

Gary (08:44)
So I do podcast host in dungeon details at 11. Actually, there isn't much on the king's front right now, guys. We still haven't heard anything about Arthur Kaliyev which is.

I don't know guys, he's talent. I just hope we can.

Bring him back in, make him feel at home, put him on a line with the Byfield and Fiala and watch him fly like the flying V. So there isn't much King's News. I don't know, you gonna do it? The only King's News is the update on the rookie face off from Friday.

Cody (09:34)
We'll save that for next week. Might as well do all the games together. So.

Gary (09:38)
Okay. So no spoiler alert then.

Cody (09:43)
Yeah, no spoiler alerts. do have, I forgot one other Ducks news. Ducks public address announcer Phil Hulett has been extended to a one -year contract to remain as the public address announcer for the upcoming season. So I was like, Phil, Phil, Phil Hulett. All right. On to league news.

Gary (10:07)
So am I gonna get to talk at all? Or am I just in the dungeon for the rest of the podcast? Okay, the NHL trade deadline is set for March 7th, 2025 at 3 p Eastern time. So that'll be noon Pacific time.

Cody (10:09)
Yep. You're in the dungeon. All right. You can start. Go for it.

E

Gary (10:33)
Could be some exciting things happening then, depending on what happens with our teams and also every other team in hockey. So, I mean, you could see the Ducks make a big move or possibly if the Kings aren't in a playoff spot, they might make some big moves. So stay tuned. That's a few months away. Well, like five months away. Six, no, six months away. So.

Cody (10:54)
Yep.

Yeah, I'm gonna say a lot longer than that. All right, next one. Or you want to go for it.

Gary (11:02)
I'm gonna take the next one because you've been nothing but talking. The Kraken have resigned defenseman Adam Larson to a four -year contract extension worth 5 .25 million AAV, overall 21 million dollars. Nice contract. It is.

Cody (11:07)
Alright, go for it.

Good resigning.

He's done well there.

Gary (11:28)
He has. has. Even though I traded Fowler on your advice to get him, and he wasn't very much of a fantasy guy, but a lot of these guys aren't fantasy guys, but they're integral to their team playing, which is something I'm really coming to realize how important role players are actually in hockey.

Cody (11:56)
Yeah.

Gary (11:59)
You know, one thing about just to take a sidestep from the league news for a second people is the Kings. Rob Blake did what he I think he did what he wanted. I mean, we were disappointed that he didn't do more, but he got role players. A lot of people think Tanner Jeannot is gonna make a huge difference with this team, along with even Joel Edmundson. Is gonna make a difference.

So he got the players he wanted. That's where his job is on the line. If they suck this year, he's probably not gonna get another contract with the Kings.

Cody (12:42)
And the best move of all he got out of the PLD contract.

Gary (12:48)
You know, the interesting thing is maybe that's the place PLD needed to go to flourish. It could come back to slap him in the face if Ovechkin get 60 goals and, you know.

Cody (13:03)
breaks breaks breaks. PLD is the reason why Gretzky. He beats Gretzky's record.

Gary (13:08)
Gretzky's record gets broken. Yeah, it's just a, you never know. I mean, and I don't wish, I don't wish evil upon anybody. I really don't.

Cody (13:12)
I'm gonna laugh at

Alright.

Gary (13:19)
Did you wanna take the next one?

Cody (13:22)
Do want to keep going since you want to keep saying.

Gary (13:23)
Okay, the leaves have re -signed forward Nick Robertson to a one -year extension worth $875 ,000 .00 AAV. But despite the contract, there is belief Robertson is still more likely to be traded than open the season with the leaves. Seravalli, are we gonna actually quote him?

notes that there is still solid interest in

Cody (13:55)
He's I think he's bad. He's bad with duck stuff, but I think he's better with Toronto stuff.

Gary (14:04)
Okay, there's still interest in Robertson and there's always easier to trade an asset under contract as opposed to restricted free agents. Then again, we talked about the Kaliyev There has been talk about Kaliyev for Robertson.

Would we make that trade? Ducks are Kings fans?

Cody (14:28)
Yeah, Ducks fans, would you make that trade? I would love that.

Gary (14:31)
Yeah, hey, Duck fans, would you not want the Kings to make that trade or would you want them to make that trade?

Cody (14:37)
I want the Ducks to make that trade.

Gary (14:39)
You want them to get Robertson. Well, it's a possibility too.

Cody (14:41)
Yeah. Yep. All right. The Leafs have signed defenseman Jani Hakanpaa to a one year contract worth 1 .47 million. I just love that name Hakanpaa. Former Duck.

Gary (15:00)
then

Cody (15:01)
All right, and sorry, there was a couple other news items that I forgot to put on there. Let's see if I can find it. I know.

Gary (15:08)
Boy, and I'm in a dungeon? You're gonna be in the Honda Center dungeon.

Cody (15:14)
Yeah, that's fine. no, put me where I want to be at the Honda Center. The pond.

Gary (15:21)
Yeah, but it's not where you can see the game.

Cody (15:26)
-huh.

Gary (15:27)
And there's King's droppings all over there.

Cody (15:32)
Sounds like Royally crap. Alex Stalock has retired from professional hockey at the age of 37 and will join the San Jose sharks television broadcast. And by the way, this was the goalie, I believe last week who I was trying to remember who was like the in between AHL and, and at NHL and AHL last year, like if Gibson or Dostal got hurt,

Gary (15:35)
Yep.

Cody (16:02)
This was like the first goalie call up. was Alex Stalock. And of course, as I was editing and re -listening to the podcast, I was like, yo, Stalock, of course, right? Cause that's when I just finally remember. But yep. So that is it for league news. You want to do the trivia question now?

Gary (16:22)
Okay, now tell me if I've done this before because it seems familiar.

What number was the first number for the Ducks to be retired?

Cody (16:39)
I think you did do this and yeah, but I mean, are you really going to ask me that question?

Gary (16:40)
Did I do that one? Okay, so I have it.

Cody (16:47)
That's an easy one. Number eight, Teemu Selanne That's an easy one.

Gary (16:56)
Okay, I have another one.

Cody (16:56)
because I believe Kariya and Niedermeyer were in the same year, but I think at separate times.

And those are only three, which should be four. Hey, turn off your your sound.

Gary (17:10)
Okay.

Who was the first Anaheim duck coach to finish his tenure with a winning record?

That was B, the second question. I'll give you four.

Cody (17:23)
Okay.

There's four of them.

Gary (17:27)
I'll give you four options. Craig Hart, Craig Hartsburg, Randy Carlyle, Bruce Boudreau and Mike Babcock

Cody (17:29)
Okay, I think I think I know. Okay.

Okay. Okay. I'm gonna go with Mike Babcock. That's what I was thinking.

Gary (17:41)
My Mike Babcock is the correct answer. He did it.

Cody (17:45)
I think Bruce, Bruce Boudreau had the best, think the best overall regular season record, I believe.

Gary (17:55)
Well, it wasn't just one season. It's to finish his tenure with a winning record.

Cody (18:00)
Yeah. Yeah. You said the first one.

Gary (18:05)
Right, and it was like that.

Cody (18:07)
Yeah, I kind of figured that he's the one that took them to the their first Stanley Cup final in 03.

So, all right. You ready to get on today's top topic? All right. So we had a listener give us an idea, which I actually really enjoyed this idea. He wanted us to go through the Pacific division, you know, our division, and name off every team's top six players.

Gary (18:18)
So yeah, let's do it.

Well, that's not exactly what he said. We kind of changed it. Let me tell you. He wanted us to do like line versus line. And my thought on that is that right now, haven't even gotten training camp as it starts next week. We don't even know what those lines are going to be just yet. So our idea, and we're going to steal this.

Cody (18:45)
Okay, well I'll let you

Gary (19:12)
from him is when the season starts, prior to them playing each other, we're trying to try to pit the lines together. So for like a week, we'll try to go through like, we do this usually on a Saturday or Sunday, but for that following week, we're gonna have the Kings versus whoever and the Ducks versus whoever and we'll have try to do the lines, say how those lines might match up.

and give you guys an idea of what to look for in the game. But right now what we decided to do instead is go through that Pacific Division and give what we believe are the sixth top players from each team in the division. That's what we decided to do, stealing that idea from our listener.

Cody (20:03)
Yeah.

I mean, we can still kind of do it where we're matching our top players versus the other teams top players.

Gary (20:13)
Well, yeah, if you want to look at it that way. We could do it that way. That's true.

Cody (20:15)
But so I say we leave our two teams for last.

Gary (20:20)
Right, so we're going to start with Calgary then.

Cody (20:22)
We'll start with Calgary. You want to give your top, your top six?

Gary (20:29)
Yeah, I will do that. This isn't in order, by the way.

Cody (20:37)
I did mine in a way.

Gary (20:40)
I didn't do it in order.

Well, I'll tell you, I'm going to do one and you do one. We'll do one, one, back, back, back, back, and back. I don't want to do it that way. Let's do my own. Because if we have the same one, we're not going to repeat it. You go, OK, he's on my list. My first one, Mackenzie Weegar, defenseman.

Cody (20:51)
Just do your six and then I'll do my six. Okay.

I have him on my list as well.

Gary (21:08)
He was a key component in the trade and I think he's probably been the best producer from that trade for Calgary since they got rid of Tkachuk.

Cody (21:20)
hands down

Gary (21:22)
So now you go with one.

Cody (21:24)
Alright, alright, Nazem Kadri.

Gary (21:29)
He was right below Mackenzie Weegar for me. And he's a center. And we might see him be a big producer. That's a possibility. But if he stays, probably be the, maybe the one C.

Cody (21:42)
We also might see him traded too. There's been talks about that. There's been talks about that.

He is the 1C.

I don't see anyone above him that's going to be in one see.

Gary (21:59)
How about I'll give you my next one, Mikael Backlund. Had a very good season last year.

Cody (22:07)
I didn't, I don't actually don't have him on my list. Yeah.

Gary (22:10)
He's a center also. But he was, I think he scored 60 points. 80.

Cody (22:16)
I did my list a little, try to include at least two, like three forwards, two defensemen and a goalie if I could.

Gary (22:27)
I did not do that. Okay. That's okay.

Cody (22:28)
That's what I try to do. But like I said, but, but, my next one is, Yegor Sharangovich

Gary (22:39)
I thought he was not on my list. I did think of him.

Cody (22:42)
I thought he had a really great year. And I think he's going to be. A bit a big contributor for Calgary this year.

Gary (22:53)
Well, my next guy probably didn't have as good a season, but I think he's going to have it this year, and that's Rasmus Andersson.

Cody (23:04)
I have them on my list too.

Gary (23:07)
I did not have your last, Sharangovich in my list.

Cody (23:11)
Yeah. All right. My next one. I think he's going to be probably a top, top 10 goalie in the future. Dustin Wolf.

I have him on my list.

Gary (23:30)
My another one on my list I think is due to come back maybe be a comeback player of the year. Could you guess who that is?

Cody (23:44)
Hooby Dooby, Huberdeau?

Gary (23:45)
Yeah, Huberdeau. Yeah, Jonathan Huberdeau.

Cody (23:48)
I have him on my list too. So, all right. You want to move on to Edmonton?

Gary (23:51)
So.

The Edmonton Oilers. You want to go first or second?

Cody (24:00)
I'll go first. All right. I'm to just go from my bottom to top. I actually ranked the players online. Ryan Nugent Hopkins. I have him as number six.

Gary (24:15)
Okay, I have him as number six on my list. I did do them in order. I'll give you my number five, Stuart Skinner.

Cody (24:19)
Yep. Yeah.

Okay.

I him, I put him as an honorable mention.

He has still hasn't proved fully enough for me, but he's still a number one goalie. Yeah, but not all goalies that lead their team to the finals like that are, I would say number one goalies. Next number five on my list is Matthias Ekholm.

Gary (24:34)
He's still the number one. And they went to the Stanley Cup finals.

Cody (24:55)
I think probably one of the probably one of the I wouldn't say underrated but doesn't probably get enough praise as he should for as a defensive defenseman.

Gary (25:03)
Well, he's a... He's... Well, they don't get... They don't get glory.

Cody (25:08)
No, and this is I as a goalie, I appreciate my defensive defenseman. So I at least you guys know that I appreciate the defensive defenseman. I appreciate that I look at that.

Gary (25:15)
I got you. I got you.

Okay, so that was your number, your number five. I gave you my number five is Stuart Skinner. So you want me to give you my number four?

Cody (25:28)
Five.

yeah

Gary (25:35)
Zach Hyman.

Cody (25:37)
That's who I have at number four. Yep, exactly. All right. Evan Bouchard.

Gary (25:41)
Who do you have for number three?

my God, I have Evan Bouchard.

Cody (25:47)
I'm pretty sure our number two and one is going to match up then.

Gary (25:52)
If you have Draissitl and then McDavid, yes.

Cody (25:54)
Yep, yes, exactly. So I told you when we talked about this, I think we're going to match up quite a bit.

Gary (26:02)
Yeah, well, we didn't, we said top six, we did not say it would be spread out evenly like a line. We just said top six players. So that's what I went with. All right. San Jose sharks.

Cody (26:10)
Yeah. Yeah. Yep. All right. San Jose.

Alright, I'll go first this time. My number six, I have William Eklund.

Gary (26:21)
Okay.

I got him at number

Cody (26:28)
Who do you have at number six then?

Gary (26:30)
Fabian Zetterlund.

Cody (26:32)
I have Settling on my list. I did consider him though. Alright, so you have him at five. I'll tell you who I have at five. Barclay Goodrow I think now that he's going to more minutes with San Jose than he did with New York, he was a Ranger. Yeah, so...

Gary (26:37)
Okay.

Okay.

Yeah, he's the Ranger. Yeah.

Cody (27:00)
I think with more minutes with San Jose, I think you're going to really see him grow a little bit more.

Gary (27:05)
Is there something on your camera because you are blurry as hell?

Cody (27:10)
No.

Better? well.

Gary (27:16)
Yeah, you're still pretty blurry. My picture is perfect and yours is very blurry. Well, that's okay. You look like a blob.

Cody (27:22)
Well, this is an audio podcast, so I don't think it really matters. All right. Who do you have at four?

Gary (27:32)
Will Smith.

Cody (27:34)
Really? I got Will Smith at three.

All right. Four for me. have Yaroslav Askarov.

Gary (27:47)
Is he gonna, you think he's gonna be the number one this year?

Cody (27:51)
I think so. I don't know if number one, I think he's I think he's going to be the he's the best goalie they have there.

Gary (28:02)
I they gave him, when that whole trade happened, they gave him a promise of what, so he had at least an idea when he would be able to play at the big club. I'm not sure if that's now or not. That's why he's not on my list. Now I could agree with you that the talent is there and he could be the rookie of the year.

Cody (28:17)
But you just.

I wouldn't doubt it.

Gary (28:25)
So it wouldn't surprise me, but because that hasn't been stated yet, I was apprehensive of putting them in there.

Cody (28:34)
Yeah. All right. So I told you I had Will Smith at three. Who do you have at three?

Gary (28:40)
Macklin Celebrini

Cody (28:44)
Okay.

Gary (28:46)
and a reason why he's a rookie.

I'm sure you probably have met two or one. I have more seasoned people at one and two.

Cody (28:51)
Yeah.

I have a med too.

Okay, so who do you have at two then?

Gary (29:03)
So.

Mikael Granlund.

Cody (29:10)
I don't even have it. I don't have him on my list. Yeah, he will be.

Gary (29:10)
He'll be their number one center. So that's why he's there. mean, Celebrini could be number one. Will Smith could be number one. We just don't know. But these two guys I had at the top are proven people.

Cody (29:32)
Yeah. All right. Since you already know my three and two, we'll go with our number ones. My number one is Tyler Toffoli.

Gary (29:41)
man, Tyler Toffoli. I was hoping he'd have a reunion with the Kings and play with Kopi and Kempe. But that's a lot of money to give him and we didn't really have it, so.

Cody (29:44)
Yeah.

That'd be good.

Yeah. All right. On to Seattle. All right. You go first this time. Who do you have for six?

Gary (30:08)
Brandon Montour.

Cody (30:11)
You have him at six. Okay. You're here. I'm not going to tell you where I have him, but okay. At six, I have Jared McCann.

Gary (30:13)
do.

I have Jared McCann a lot higher than that.

Cody (30:28)
our list is different on this one then. All right. Who do you have at five?

Gary (30:35)
Joey Daccord.

Cody (30:37)
I have him as honorable mention because like I said, I like to include a goalie.

Gary (30:43)
Yeah, he was incredible last year.

Cody (30:45)
yeah, he was. I like Joey Daccord.

Gary (30:48)
I wish I had picked him up in fantasy because then I would really walked away with the leak.

Cody (30:52)
I believe I told you to pick him up.

Gary (30:55)
And I forgot about it and when I went back somebody picked him up, which I blame myself for.

Cody (31:02)
I think it was our, our account that I picked them up on.

Gary (31:06)
Was it you? that one, because we had...

Cody (31:08)
It was our team. Our North Kariya team.

Gary (31:13)
that was funny. Yeah.

Cody (31:15)
So my number five I have Vince Dunn.

Gary (31:20)
I have Vince Dunn number three. He was our leading defensive scorer last year.

Cody (31:22)
Okay.

Yeah, I like Vince Dunn, but I you'll see him why my list. Who do you have it for?

Gary (31:34)
at four, Matty Beniers.

Cody (31:39)
Okay.

I have him higher. At 4 I have Andre Burakovsky.

All right. And I'll go with my three real quick. Chandler Stephenson at three.

Gary (31:55)
I got Chandler Stephenson in at three.

Cody (31:57)
Okay. And then number two, have Matty Beniers.

Gary (32:02)
Okay, and I have Jordan Eberle.

Cody (32:08)
Okay, I don't even have them on my list. My number one, I have Brandon Montour.

Gary (32:15)
And I had Jared McCann because he was, think, their leading scorer last year.

Cody (32:20)
Yeah, but there's a reason I have Brandon Montour one. I think he had just as many points as any of these players last year on Seattle as a defenseman. He's been to back to back Stanley Cup finals.

Gary (32:34)
Yeah, and he's not playing with Florida anymore.

Cody (32:39)
No, I know, but but he was putting up. I mean, he's looked good everywhere he's been.

Gary (32:46)
Okay. So we're a little different on that team. That's right.

Cody (32:47)
So that's why I have him there. Yeah. All right. Vancouver, the Canucks. Who do you have at six?

Gary (32:57)
Jake Debrusk.

Cody (32:59)
I have him at 6 too

Gary (33:02)
See, we're not, sometimes we're alike. Well, I am a Kings fan, he is a Ducks fan, so we are not always alike. So, who do you have at number five?

Cody (33:04)
Yeah.

I have Brock Boeser at five.

Gary (33:14)
Brock Boeser at number five. You gotta be kidding me.

Cody (33:18)
All right. Number four, do you have?

Gary (33:21)
This is where it probably changes because I have Elias Pettersson at number four.

Cody (33:23)
Okay.

okay. I have Thatcher Demko at four.

Gary (33:33)
So who do you have at three?

Cody (33:35)
At 3 JT Miller.

Gary (33:38)
I have that your Demko at number three. Why do I have, think, why do you want to know why I am there? I think he's healthy this year. When healthy, he's incredible. So, and I'm not putting Elias Pettersson down. They have a freaking great team. That's why they won. They won the Pacific division. I mean, as far as regular season record.

Cody (33:41)
Okay.

Yeah, no, he's... no doubt.

Yeah.

yeah.

Gary (34:07)
They're scary good. I have at number two, JT Miller.

Cody (34:14)
See at number two I have Quinn Hughes.

Gary (34:19)
and use number one.

Cody (34:21)
Am I, am I number one? I've Elias Pettersson. I think now that he has his contract, he's going to be healthy. I think he's going to be the best. He's, think he's going to be their best player.

Gary (34:34)
So you're going out on a limb on that one because he hasn't been that. I can see what you're saying, but he hasn't been. And sometimes you get that contract. It doesn't always mean a great season.

Cody (34:40)
Yeah. He has.

No, I think he will be though.

No, but I think now that he doesn't have to worry about the contract anymore, you could just focus on playing hockey. So I think that's what's going to help them. All right. On to the Vegas cheaters. I mean, Knights, Golden Knights. Sorry. I guess I'm in the dungeon now.

Gary (35:09)
Honey, honey, he's doing it again.

Cody (35:13)
All right. What do you have at six?

Gary (35:20)
Ivan Barbashev.

Cody (35:23)
I didn't have him on my list. At number six, have Noah Hanifin.

I always forget that he went there.

Gary (35:33)
That's why he's not there. I he went there too. I'm going, right. That's one thing, when I was looking.

Cody (35:41)
But Barbashev is a good pull. He was my honor. Like if, I have a, I have Adin Hill as number seven as honorable men. Like I said, I like to include a goalie in my top players. I think he's their top goalie there.

Gary (35:45)
Yeah. He's.

Okay, I could say I'd put Adin Hill 7 with you on that one.

Cody (36:00)
Yeah. But Barbashev was like my next skater on my list.

All right, so who do you have at five?

Gary (36:11)
Alex Pietrangelo. Pietrangelo.

Cody (36:14)
Pietrangelo. You have him that low?

Gary (36:19)
Yep.

Cody (36:20)
I got Shea Theodore 5.

Gary (36:23)
I have Shea Theodore at four.

Cody (36:27)
I got Wild Bill Cody Karlsson at four.

Gary (36:30)
I got Karlsson a three.

Cody (36:34)
All right.

Gary (36:35)
Karlsson was like the third leading scorer on the team on the third line. I Mean you got that's in it. You know you talk about why they win Karlsson's on the third line

Cody (36:39)
No, I know, but there's

No, I know.

Gary (36:49)
He's incredible. Boy, did the Ducks make a huge mistake letting him go.

Cody (36:56)
god, let's not go there about Ducks letting go players.

Gary (37:00)
I'm sorry, but you... Well, just that one. I mean, look at... Santa... Yeah, well, Theodore, forgot about that. But San Jose's San Jose's Sharks, number one, was Toffoli. The Kings let him go.

Cody (37:04)
No, there's two on this list. There's two on Vegas alone.

Yeah. All right. My number three, have Mark Stone.

Gary (37:18)
So.

to.

Cody (37:24)
See number two, I had Alex Pietrangelo. He's their number one defenseman.

And then I think number one, think we both have Jack Eichel. Yeah.

Gary (37:36)
Jack Eichel. Here's the thing I'm gonna say, if Shea Theodore doesn't get hurt, he was their number one defenseman last year.

He got hurt and missed a bunch of games and he was a stud until he got hurt. He was number one. Now I'm not saying Pietrangelo can't play. He's a winner. Every team should want him. So.

Cody (37:48)
Yeah.

All right. You want to do Anaheim or LA first?

Gary (38:09)
Well, since Anaheim comes first in the alphabet, we'll do deducts. Only reason why.

Cody (38:15)
Okay, so who do you have at six?

Gary (38:25)
I have Lukas Dostal, number 6.

Cody (38:30)
Okay, so I have Gibson. think Gibson's the better goalie overall, but Dostal is the future.

So I have Gibson at seven.

Gary (38:44)
Gibson, Gibby did not make my list. I do have an honorable mention in there too.

Cody (38:52)
Okay, who's your honorable mention because I just gave you mine.

Gary (38:57)
Olen Zellweger.

Cody (38:58)
Okay. I think he was probably mine either first or second honorable mention out the

Gary (39:06)
He was, well.

If he...

grows like he should. He could be their number one defenseman. Now that's a big if because he's still young.

Cody (39:27)
All right. My number six, I have Pavel Mintyukov.

And I think he I agree with you that Zellweger could be a number one, but I think Mintyukov can easily be a number one defenseman.

Gary (39:45)
He might be their number one this year.

Cody (39:48)
I think he's going be their number two this year.

-Mintyukov.

Gary (39:54)
Who's gonna be number one?

Cody (39:56)
I'll tell you later on my list.

So who do you have at five?

Gary (40:04)
You're going to find this funny. Mason McTavish. And I have him there. There's a reason why he's not higher up on my list. Well, he needs to work on his defense. He needs to work on his mistakes. And he needs to be healthy. Those three things. Otherwise, he could be two or three. He wouldn't be one. He'd be two or three.

Cody (40:08)
That's who I have at five.

defensive.

Yeah, that's why I have him solo. Yep.

He probably be number four on my list if if that so you probably would have moved up just but I agree a hundred percent with what you're saying, but the top three players I have I don't think he's in a pass.

All right. My number four. I have Radko Gudas. He's the number one defenseman this year.

Gary (40:49)
You know, I totally brain farted and didn't think about him. So I want to be honest about that. The only defenseman I put in there was Zellweger. So I had Dostal at six, McTavish at five. And this guy would be higher up too, but he had his worst year. And...

Cody (40:57)
Yeah.

What does that word? OK.

Okay.

Gary (41:21)
I believe he's gonna explode this year, which I really hate because that means the Ducks will get a lot better, but I have Trevor Zegras at number four. Yep.

Cody (41:35)
At number four. Okay.

Gary (41:39)
I have him at number four, one, injury prone. And when he did play, it wasn't the same player that we saw two years prior, either of the two years prior. So he has to make a comeback. So if he would have had the same kind of year, he would have been right up at the top, somewhere, one, two. But because of that, he's number four.

Cody (41:47)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Okay. Who do you have at three?

Gary (42:09)
Frank Vatrano

Cody (42:11)
I don't have him on my list.

Gary (42:13)
I have, well, he scored 37 goals. Okay. And one thing I, I respect, he wants to be an Anaheim duck.

Cody (42:15)
Yeah.

Gary (42:27)
So, and I know there's been trade speculation about him, but he wants to be there and he produced. Now, he could have been number one. Could have been number one with the way he played, except for he makes stupid mistakes. Like, you know, pushing off the net and getting a penalty shot. I mean,

Cody (42:49)
You

God. So.

Gary (42:57)
I was like, I can remember you talking about that for weeks. but you know, this is with speculation. I obviously, think Zegras or McTavish could be the number one guy this year.

Cody (43:13)
Yeah. So.

Gary (43:15)
I think Lukas Dostal could be the number one guy this year, depending on what happens with Gibson, of course, being traded.

Cody (43:22)
I have the reason why I didn't have Vatrano on my list is one I don't the Vatrano is not going to have the top six minutes like he did last year.

So one that's going to diminish his minutes. He's going to be a probably a third line winger.

Gary (43:44)
think it'll be on the power play.

Cody (43:46)
He will be on the power play, but still, but with a full healthy team. And I don't know his defense. He really needs, he was one of the worst penalty takers, I think all season last year. I want to say he was one of the top people.

Gary (44:03)
Like I said, made stupid mistakes, but he scored 37 goals. Who is number two on the Ducks in Goal scoring?

Cody (44:06)
Yeah, but like I said,

Number two on the Ducks.

Gary (44:15)
You're the duck fan. I don't even know the answer to the question. I'm asking you. Who's number two and how close were they to 37 goals? That's one thing I'm gonna say. They needed goals. He was the main reason of them scoring goals.

Cody (44:17)
I know about

and try and the top.

Yeah.

No, but this is my I got what you're saying, but what I'm doing is a little different than how you're doing it. I'm not going off of what happened last year. I'm kind of cool. I am, but I'm also thinking what's going to happen this year. I guess, and I love the Toronto and I agree with you. I love that he wants to be in Anaheim and I really like that. My number three, I have Leo Carlsson.

Gary (44:35)
I understand what you're saying.

I want to be proven wrong by these guys.

Cody (44:58)
Yeah, but my number three, I have Leo Carlsson.

Gary (45:02)
is my number two.

Cody (45:05)
So.

Gary (45:06)
and he could be number one. So I got three, four guys all young who could be number one if they have a big year. Who's your number one?

Cody (45:07)
He can easily be number one.

Well, what about my number two?

Gary (45:24)
Okay, give me your number two.

Cody (45:26)
I've got Trevor Zegras at Two. I think he's going to be, there's no contract he has to worry about. He's fully healthy. He's going to be in training camp full time. He's going to be able to play with Troy Terry or, and, or Carlsson, don't know how the lines are going to mix up this year, but he's going to be healthy. There's going to be no contract, hold out or anything like that. I think he's going be ready.

He's going to be better defensively because he already looked like that last year. So I think he's going to be ready. That's why I have him a little higher. And then my number one, I have Troy Terry because I think Troy Terry is going to be the number one score on this team because of the guy I have at number two. When Trevor's egress and Troy Terry are playing together, they are a dangerous duo.

Gary (46:07)
I have no Troy Terry.

We're gonna find out. Hopefully everybody stays healthy. You gotta hope that with any of these teams, because that can make a huge difference in what happens. Okay. On to Los Angeles.

Cody (46:31)
Yeah. All right. On to Los Angeles. All right. I'll tell you who I have as an honorable mention. I have two honorable mentions because like I said, I like to include a goalie. I have Mikey Anderson and Darcy Kuemper. Those are my two honorable mentions at seven.

Gary (46:54)
Okay, so I'm going to tell you how I did mine and I agree with that for honorable mention. Totally. So, but I also had two people at number six.

Cody (47:06)
Okay, just tell me who you're to six in.

Gary (47:11)
The two at six, Trevor Moore and Philip Danault.

Cody (47:17)
I Philip Danault at number six. I thought about Trevor Moore.

Gary (47:22)
Well, I did too and I couldn't pick. go guy who led the team in goals. The guy who does everything I mean, and he doesn't do anything to it. Super Excel, but he does everything well. He's one of those players you don't win a Stanley Cup without. Philip to know as a Stanley Cup kind of player, you want him on your team. So.

Cody (47:36)
Yeah.

Yeah. All right. Who do you have a five?

Gary (47:51)
So who do you have at five?

Cody (47:55)
I have Kevin Fiala at five.

Gary (48:00)
And this is when the one I hope goes to number one. I have Quinton Byfield at number five.

Cody (48:05)
You know, it's funny. I just, had Quinton Byfield at five and I switched it cause I was like, you know what? I'm going to Quinton Byfield the benefit of the doubt. think talent. I guess I think this year, think by fields definitely going to bypass probably Fiala and maybe one or two, probably you probably be number two or three by the end of the year. I'm on my list.

Gary (48:29)
He could be number one, Byfield could be, but Fiala could be number one too. mean, some of my ranking is out of respect. So I had Byfield at five, I had Fiala at four.

Cody (48:31)
He could be.

But yeah, y could, he usually could.

So that's exactly how I had it. I literally just before we started talking about it, I switched it.

Gary (49:00)
Well, that's an easy thing I can see because it's just one off.

Cody (49:05)
Yeah.

Gary (49:09)
And I'll tell you, number three, he could be number one, Adrian Kempe.

Cody (49:15)
I have him at three too.

Gary (49:17)
Well, the funny thing is the top two scorers were Adrian Kempe and Kevin Fiala and then Anze Kopitar I think was third. Who do you have at number two?

Cody (49:32)
Drew Doughty.

Gary (49:33)
Drew Doughty, out of respect, number one defenseman. He's also a very good offensive player. And he's that rare that really plays both well.

Cody (49:45)
yeah, that's why I do like about Doughty is he's definitely a two -way defenseman. He's not just an offensive defenseman or a He does do both very well.

Gary (49:57)
I mean, he's not a Cale Makar or Quinn Hughes, but I mean, defensively, I take him over either one of them as a defenseman, defenseman, but not as an offensive defenseman. And out of respect, Cap, still gotta be number one.

Cody (50:04)
Yeah.

I got Bailey the lion at number one.

Gary (50:15)
Happy.

Cody (50:17)
I'm just kidding. I got the captain Anze Kopitar.

Gary (50:24)
I mean, I do believe that this, could be anywhere from five, one to five could all intermix this year. And the thing is, is it could be scary if a Brandt Clarke becomes something. I have a feeling it's going to take him another year to be something.

Cody (50:38)
Yeah.

Gary (50:54)
He could be in the sixth spot this year. Just never know. He's just too raw to predict. So, I mean, you guys can all tell us what you think, those guys are.

Cody (51:02)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Gary (51:09)
So.

Cody (51:09)
I'm excited for this year. I can tell you, I'm not going to say who, who won or anything, but I was watching the Ducks Rookie game yesterday. God, those uniforms for the Ducks looks so great on the ice. I almost forgot that we actually got better uniforms. Now it was nice seeing beautiful looking jerseys on your team. I'm not used to it.

Gary (51:35)
Both teams rebrands were definitely an upgrade.

Cody (51:39)
big yeah for the Ducks a big big like big upgrade.

Gary (51:43)
I think bigger for the Ducks, and I'm being honest, the Ducks were a little bit bigger than the Kings. I would have liked to see a few other things for the Kings, but I still say way better than what we had.

Cody (51:49)
God.

I still

I think it was still better than what you had. think if they would have gone back to like what you and I talked about the 02 through 07 look, I think that would have been like, would have been like, okay, that's maybe just as like, it would have been like Ducks and Kings were like right there. Cause like we don't have any purple, like I know it's not purple, it's called forum blue, but we don't have any purple teams in the NHL.

Gary (52:04)
Oof.

Yeah, I agree. I'm in total agreement with you.

Yeah.

Cody (52:25)
You know, let's be different. I, I like what the Ducks did. They full orange, orange country. I'm like, all right, cool.

Gary (52:32)
Well, the closest thing you have is like the eggplant color. Don't the avalanche have a little eggplant in there, one of their uniforms?

Cody (52:39)
That's a more of a maroon than eggplant.

Gary (52:43)
Well, it just kind of reminds me of it then.

Cody (52:46)
I could see it, but that's, would say theirs is more like a reddish purple. Ours is more like a purple purple, but,

Gary (52:56)
So, are we done with all that? Do we want to go to our listeners question?

Cody (53:03)
Well, since the, got the listener question, I'll let you, talk us through it.

Gary (53:09)
Well, let me just read it to you how he sent it to me.

Cody (53:15)
And by the way, I am jealous that this listener that gave us the question got to meet Dominik Hasek himself. I am so jealous.

Eric, you are a lucky guy. I wish I could have met Dominik Hasek.

Gary (53:33)
he is.

Today at 12, not sure if Cody uses Money Puck, but has great stat conversions and worth a look for sure. Money Puck. let me just see. We had a long discussion about this question anyways.

Cody (53:45)
Money puck? I'll check it out.

Gary (54:02)
my god.

Who do you guys think was the best goalie on either team since the team's inception? boy, you had a few in LA. So my next, this is my next response. We're gonna use this question on our next podcast. So his comeback. Let's go. I'm curious who you say, LOL.

Cody (54:21)
Ha ha ha.

Gary (54:36)
I think I know who Cody will say. Well, you're going to find out in a little bit, Eric, about who you think Cody's going to say. So my question was, out of total respect for Eric, you want to know now who I think? No, I want to hear you say it on the podcast, LOL. But I'm going to say it's way harder on you because you had some quick stop -offs that were very good goalies.

Cody (55:03)
Yeah, you did.

Gary (55:06)
Now here, I want to read this whole thing because part of what I've done, and I know I didn't even bring this up to you Cody, but I did it. The question I have is how do you break down a top goalie? Is it save percentage, time on ice, goals allowed? What is the ratings you use to determine it? Because guys like Fuhr and Potman were on the Kings at one time.

Cody (55:35)
Yeah.

Gary (55:36)
I say, will get my answer next Monday. And yes, cause he asked, now you're thinking laugh out just before that. Now you'll get my answer. Yes, I do a lot of thinking. Sounds good. And then it's the picture of him and Dominik Hasek. This guy is upset. You didn't remember his Hart trophy. And I'm going like, holy crap.

Cody (55:56)
Did Eric actually tell them that?

Gary (56:00)
I don't know. I showed you the picture, right?

Cody (56:04)
Yeah, you sent me the picture.

Gary (56:06)
I don't know if you can see it.

Cody (56:07)
I have the picture on my phone.

Gary (56:10)
Yeah. So anyways, I told him to tell Dominik, I'm sorry. think he's a, he, he's a top five of all time. goes, boy. think there's four. Well, I was just sitting, you know, top, you always people top five. goes, boy. I don't think there's four guys above him.

Cody (56:20)
He's a top three of all time. Let's be honest.

I would say my top three all time is probably Brodeur or I would say Hasek Brodeur Roy.

Gary (56:40)
Okay, so to me it's him and Brodeur, Dryden, Roy, and Plante. Ken Dryden, boy, he won six Stanley Cups.

Cody (56:55)
He was a beast. He'd be my four.

Gary (56:57)
He said, said, he said Roy won, Hasek two, Brodeur's three. But you got to realize Hasek won it on Buffalo when they weren't that good. I mean, to me, he's probably the, the greatest talented goalie. The Brodeur had the best stats. So criteria, this is my criteria for goalies. Now, Cody, you can throw in and when you think, one of the criteria is how many cups have they won?

Cody (57:08)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Later.

Gary (57:27)
How many awards did they win? What kind of competition did they go against? How long did they play for that team, longevity? How many wins did they have?

Cody (57:37)
Yeah.

Gary (57:43)
How many records do they hold?

And then probably last on my list would probably be stats. So those were my criteria for making the observations I did for my top three, Eric, for the kinks. So I don't know what you use, Cody. Would you throw anything else in there?

Cody (58:07)
I would say.

I agree with all of that. Another thing I would add is how they keep their, like how they, I can play offs if were they the main reasons why their team went on or why they kind of went home early? How were they in crunch time? Pretty much like how, how clutch were they?

Gary (58:29)
Well, yeah, well that'd be part of competition. were they really the reason the teams made it? See, this is what made number one on my list easy.

Cody (58:41)
Mine was easy no matter what Of course we don't have as as big of a you know as like you did but Are we doing just one or are we doing like a top three?

Gary (58:45)
So.

He asked for top three.

Cody (59:00)
top three. All who's your number three?

Gary (59:04)
My number three took the Kings in 92 -93 to the Stanley Cup. He had 145 wins.

for the Kings, which gets me that it was a different time too. He had an 895 save percentage. His goals against the average is 3 .47 and he did take them to the cup and they were the runner up and that was Kelly Hrudey.

Who's your number three?

Cody (59:39)
My number three.

I'm gonna go with John Gibson. John Gibson is my number three right now. Huh?

Gary (59:47)
This would have been my guess too. I mean, I didn't look up any of your stats, but I would have guessed just off the top of my head, John Gibson, number three.

Cody (59:56)
He's been there for 11 years You know he I mean a safe percentage of 910 2 .9 goals against average 24 shutouts You know, like I said I've I wish he would have seen more playoff time Maybe if we would have been in the playoffs a little bit more often, maybe he might be higher on this list But that's who I have at number

Actually, yeah, I have an honorable mention, but I'll say it after.

Gary (1:00:32)
See it now if you want.

Cody (1:00:34)
All right. My number honorable mention for number three is Ryan Miller.

He would have been higher, but he only played four seasons with the Ducks.

I think, but no, and no playoffs, but I'm just going off of what he's done in his career.

Gary (1:00:47)
Yeah.

Cody (1:00:55)
So

Gary (1:00:57)
There you go.

Cody (1:00:59)
But I say he's probably my, if we're talking about just overall career, he'd probably be my number two goalie in Ducks history. If we're talking about overall career.

Gary (1:01:09)
Yeah, I know, we're talking about the Ducks and the Kings. OK. OK. Because, you know, when I read the text I got, Felix Potvin came in and so did Grant Fuhr.

Cody (1:01:11)
Just the Ducks. I know that's why I didn't have him hire.

Gary (1:01:25)
Felix Potvin played three years for the Kings. He won 61 games, 905 save percentage, and a 2 .35 goals against. Three years, 61 wins. I mean, he has a good goalie, but I mean, his overall career still wouldn't beat my number one. Grant Fuhr won a lot of Stanley Cups, but he played 14 games for the Kings. He had one win in 14 games.

Cody (1:01:43)
Yeah.

but not with LA.

We only had one win in 14 games.

Gary (1:01:55)
Only one win 8 .76 save percentage and his goals against average is 4 .04 per game So that's why they're not in the top three and the Kings, but they were great goalies I mean, there's a lot of great goalies Terry Satchuk Mario Lessard Martin Jones had a great career played for the Kings

Cody (1:02:03)
Wow.

Okay.

Gary (1:02:25)
trying to think of Mario, Mario Lessard played 240 games with the Kings, but he only won 92 games. So number two, he's up on the, at the Staples Center, his numbers saved up there, Rogie Vachon.

Cody (1:02:33)
Alright, well, so who's your number two?

Wasn't he the first king to get his number retired?

Gary (1:02:48)
I think he was. I think so. 171 wins, .901 save percentage, 2 .86 goals against average. He was something. He was definitely something.

Whose number? Yep.

Cody (1:03:07)
My turn.

All right. My number two. Honestly, like, I don't know if he should, but I would like to see his numbers in the rafters. The original Mighty Duck himself. The number one. Yep. And the expansion I'm saying that's I'm saying the number one, the original pick is Guy Hebert. He's been with the Ducks this whole time. He's, know,

Gary (1:03:25)
number one pick, right?

I've nailed every one of yours so far in my head.

Cody (1:03:44)
I think mine was a lot easier to do than yours. But like I said, he's played, I want to say the third most games.

Gary (1:03:47)
You

Yeah, and he he net minded to him when they were terrible.

Cody (1:04:02)
Yeah, they were terrible. You know, so like I said, I would, I would love to see his numbers in the rafters. Probably not going to, but I think he should, my number one should be in the rafters and it's annoying that it isn't.

Gary (1:04:21)
Did you want to go with your number one first?

Cody (1:04:22)
I'll go with my number one cause I feel like yours a little bit bigger.

Gary (1:04:28)
That's okay. I know who yours is and...

Cody (1:04:29)
But we got, we got the masked man himself, the one that took us to two Stanley Cup finals. He was the second, I the second latest player to ever win the Conn Smythe on a losing team. He's the reason why we even made it to either Stanley Cup finals, especially the one in 03 Jean.

Sebastian, the jiggy man himself, Giguere he should be his number number 35 should be retired up in the rafters at the pond. And it's pissing me off that it's not his number needs to be up there. You're telling me that this guide led us to two Stanley Cup finals during the Mighty Ducks and the Anaheim Ducks era.

Gary (1:05:02)
Giguere

Cody (1:05:28)
we wouldn't have been at either one if it wasn't for him.

I know the Stanley Cup. know, Bryzgalov really helped us get there, but I, but Giguere is the one that really is the one that closed it out and everything. And he's the only reason why we even made it to the three final. He's the only reason why we even went to game seven in the Stanley Cup final against the devils. That guy's done everything. His number should be, honestly, I think his number should have been retired before Niedermayer in all honesty.

Gary (1:06:02)
So you're saying you know exactly who my number one is. How hard was that?

Cody (1:06:06)
Yes.

It wasn't hard at all because he he's also taking your team to the Stanley Cup finals twice.

Gary (1:06:17)
He probably had one of the best Stanley Cup runs as a goalie ever.

Cody (1:06:28)
That was in the O2 or the 12, right? Yeah.

Gary (1:06:31)
In 12, yes. They were the, they barely made the playoffs. They played the number one, number two, three seeds in the West in a row and beat them all.

Cody (1:06:42)
Not even close either.

Gary (1:06:43)
They went 3 -0 on all of them and then they lose the game and then shut up. They went I think 16 I think so something like that. I Think they ran met Vancouver. Didn't they ran Vancouver who is this President Cup out in four games? Maybe that maybe it was five. I can't remember anyway Jonathan quick not only two Stanley Cups

Cody (1:06:52)
I think it 16 and 4 total?

I believe, but I'll look it up.

Gary (1:07:14)
He was a Conn Smythe winner in 2012. He has 370 wins. 911 save percentage, a 2 .46 goals against average with 57 shutouts. When him and Kopi retire, there'll be two more statues outside of Staples Center. I know it's called crypto .com.

You're offended by me calling it Staples Center still. But those are gonna be two more statues out there between. Kope and Jonathan Quick. Eric, I'm sorry it wasn't Pot Van and Fear. They had great careers, but their careers for the Kings. Pot Van actually had a better one than Fear. He just barely played. Like one win.

So, but they did have some greaties that came in and played in late years for them. So, but those are our top three goalies. Fans, what do you think? Do think we're off on that one?

Cody (1:08:27)
I think our top three were easily the top three.

I guess I think our number ones were pretty easy for each team

Gary (1:08:36)
Yeah.

Cody (1:08:39)
They're the only goalies in our team's history to win a Stanley Cup for our team.

Gary (1:08:39)
Well, they are.

Yeah, I knew the number one for the Ducks who it was gonna be. I thought maybe Gibson could have popped over Hebert, could have stat wise maybe, but I'm not in the hearts of Ducks fans, I don't think. I mean.

Cody (1:08:52)
No, I love Gibson.

No, for me it's, it's always going to be jiggy getting jiggy with it. I just, he was, I was just watching him grow. just remember watching him Kariya in that old three, three, just those two guys alone is what also like I was what nine or 10 years old when that was going on. And I just remember, or no, was, I was 10. Yeah. And I just remember watching that just cause

Selanne wasn't with the team at that time. I think he was with the Sharks, I want to say in 03. But like just watching Kariya and Jiggy in those playoffs and that season was just so fun to watch.

Gary (1:09:45)
Wasn't he in Winnipeg?

Cody (1:09:47)
No. Selanne was traded to the Ducks. I want to say 97, 98.

Gary (1:09:49)
Did he go to the...

from the sharks.

Cody (1:09:55)
No. So Selanne got traded to the Ducks in 97, 98. Then I think before the 01 or 02 season, he got traded to the sharks. Then he came back. Then he went to Colorado. Then he came back to the Ducks.

You're looking it up, aren't you?

Gary (1:10:20)
curious because I thought he went from Winnipeg to the Ducks.

Cody (1:10:23)
No, he went from Winnipeg to the Ducks. Then they traded him to the sharks.

I think that trade was part of I think why the Ducks got Corey Perry.

Maybe?

I can't remember at the top of my head. I think that's how it was.

I'm just curious, am I right? Wrong.

Gary (1:10:51)
Wrong. Played first three years for Winnipeg, 95 -96 he played for Phoenix. Then he played five years in Anaheim, 95 -96.

Cody (1:11:03)
Wait, he never played for Phoenix.

Gary (1:11:10)
if you can see it.

Cody (1:11:12)
I can't see anything. I'm looking it up now. I think.

Gary (1:11:17)
He went to San Jose, he came back, then he went back to San Jose again, then to Colorado, then finished the last what? Nine years with the Ducks. That's what the ESPN says.

Cody (1:11:30)
No, I think the jets became the Arizona coyotes in 98 -99.

Gary (1:11:41)
it says Phoenix maybe like a different one.

Cody (1:11:45)
playing career. So he played Winnipeg Jets from 92 to 96.

Then he got, got, then he went to the Ducks in 96 to 2001. The San Jose sharks from 2001 to 03. Colorado from 03 to 04. And then from Anaheim from 05 to 2014.

Gary (1:12:04)
Yeah.

Yeah, they got him from Winnipeg. You said they got him from San Jose. They got him a writ. Yeah, you did.

Cody (1:12:15)
No, I said no. I said when he went from Winnipeg to Anaheim, then Anaheim traded him to San Jose. Then he went to Colorado and then he went. Yes.

Gary (1:12:28)
Then back down, alright. Okay, we're good. I gotta get out of this dungeon, it's hot. I'm tired of warm water and stale bread.

Cody (1:12:36)
That's why I fan on me.

yeah, mom's doing a good job.
